Hello there :)
I’m MaKell, a multidisciplinary art director and designer.
Design is more than aesthetics; it's a powerful tool for problem-solving and enhancing consumer experiences. With a multidisciplinary approach, I craft tailored solutions that address complex challenges. From tangible products to digital platforms, marketing strategies, and print graphics, I've successfully navigated diverse projects. By drawing on psychology, engineering, and artistic principles, I create human-centric designs that resonate. I thrive in collaborative environments, leveraging technology to connect with global teams and deliver exceptional results.
Pronouns: she / her / hers
Let’s get personal
Beyond the title of designer, I go by Hiker, Skier, Chronic-Office-Watcher, Wakeboarder, and Boater-Since-Birth. In the winter you'll find me on the slopes or binge watching repeat episodes of The Office.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Gallactica.
During the summer I spend most of my time in the mountains either hiking or gardening. My favorite place is the outdoors, surrounded by trees.
Past Lives
Freelancer
I do freelance work on the side creating logos, branding, and marketing materials. My favorite client has been Pale Blue Earth, designing for sustainable batteries.
Wannabe Architect
I wanted to be an architect and spent a year interning as a draftsman. Could I use Revit now? No. But I learned a lot about design. I went to the University of Utah to join their architecture program, but ended up finding entrepreneurial design and fell in love.
Waitress
Much more grungy than the musical, I spent seven years working in a mining-themed steakhouse. There were mannequins in the dining room and a pond. Want to know about different cuts of steak and liquors? I’ve got you.
Honor Society President
Yes, I’m a nerd. In high school I was Honor Society President and organized our volunteer projects. My favorite volunteer activity was putting on a charity 5k for a local family dealing with childhood cancer.
